2008 Sierra Expedition Square Dance

The next expedition event is the Square Dance on Friday, November 21st, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Saratoga Community Center.

The community center is located at the intersection of Fruitvale and Allendale Avenue, directly across from the Post Office. For freeway access, take the Saratoga Avenue exit from highway 85 and head toward Saratoga. Turn left at Fruitvale (there's a traffic light) and then go 1 block, turning right onto Allendale. Join us for a fun evening dancing with your princess to a live square dance caller! No experience is required, and Western attire is encouraged. You may want to bring a sweater or light wrap if your Princess is one of those who likes to play on the patio (very popular) since nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to the low 50s.

Circles are responsible for providing food and drinks, as shown in the table below:

2 Sheet cakes, one vanilla, one chocolate	Mystic
Fruit (enough for 50)	Tioga
Chips and dip (enough for 50)	Ponderosa
Cookies (enough for 50)	Shasta/Tahoe
Cookies (enough for 50)	El Dorado
Veggies (enough for 50)	Paradise

Dad/daughter photographs will be available. The Chinook will bring a digital camera on a tripod. Circles need to support the photographic activity by supplying one Dad to shoot a picture of the Circle gathering ahead of your Circle. Circle Navigators, please identify your Dad and have him be ready to leap forward and shoot the needed photo of the Circle ahead.

Pictures will be available on-line a few days after the dance. You will get an e-mail telling you where and we will update this site also to so note.

Notes for hosting this event:

The venue and caller have generally been reserved for the next year immediately after the event is held.

When cleaning up, we need to check for general cleanliness of bathrooms, kitchen area, and the foyer. There is a deposit that could be withheld if we leave too big a mess. So far, the staff has been very good about dealing with it, and we have not been charged.
